Program Details
Computer Systems – Networking is a two-year full-time post-secondary program that offers a unique blend of theoretical and practical education. A strong focus is placed on hands-on laboratory and technical problem solving.
During the tenure of the program, students study a wide range of subjects, including computer hardware and operating systems, networking technologies, devices and services, Windows server operating systems, Unix/Linux, telephony, network security, data communications, routing and switching and computer forensics.
In addition, the students also study statistics for computer systems, mathematics for computer systems, and electricity for computer systems. Apart from this, a strong focus is placed on teaching students the ethics in technology and the environment, customer skills, report writing in a technical environment, business skills and employment skills.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to apply for this program, the students need to complete their secondary education. Those who are currently in their high school can also apply to this program. Their midterm and final term scores will be automatically transmitted to the college.
Interested students need to submit a completed application form along with a copy of secondary school diploma certificate and scores in English Grade 12 C or University or equivalent and Mathematics Grade 11 or 12 C or University or equivalent.
Where to Study Computer Systems Networking in Canada?
Although a number of Canadian colleges offer diploma programs in computer systems technicians – networking but not all are accredited. Besides, they may not provide hands-on training, which is an essential criterion to find employment upon graduation.
