Centennial College’s one-year post-secondary media and communication program in Toronto is designed for students who wish to study media and/or communication related program at a college or university but do not meet eligibility criteria laid down by the colleges in Canada.
It is an intensive preparation program that covers theoretical principles as well as practical understanding to produce focused media solutions and written communications. The focus is on helping students learn to use appropriate vocabulary, terminology, basic numeracy and communicative strategies and write and present for a variety of media platforms.

Program Details
The communication and media foundation program runs for one year through two semesters and covers a wide selection of subjects, including Essential English Skills, Introduction to Media, Multimedia, Exploring Digital Culture, Developing Communications Portfolio Skills, Exploring Digital Culture, Media Writing and Business Communications.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who apply to Broadcasting and Film, Journalism or Advertising and Marketing Communication Management programs with the college but do not meet eligibility requirements for any of these programs may receive an alternate offer to this program at the college. For this, students will be required to submit a copy of secondary school diploma certificate or equivalent and scores in English Grade 12 C or University or equivalent.
Opportunities upon Program Completion
The communication and media foundations program is intended to help students assist in getting admission in media and communication related programs at the college. During this program, the students get an opportunity to hone their visual and written communications. They develop all basic skills and knowledge that make them eligible to apply for diploma or degree programs at the college.
The graduates develop a portfolio of work that demonstrates the knowledge and skills they have gained during the tenure of the program. The qualified students receive an offer to the advanced three-year diploma programs in journalism, broadcasting and film or advertising and marketing communications.
